Specialist Areas:
Andrew is responsible for advising on and creating a vast array of legal documentation which includes all types of commercial relationships and transactions. He has extensive experience in a broad range of areas and has a particular interest in two areas.
The first is advising on and establishing tax effective business and investment structures that minimise various commercial risks. This requires sound knowledge and skill in the areas of company, trust and partnership law, revenue taxation, capital gains tax, goods and services tax, payroll tax, stamp duty, land tax and other revenue law. Andrew works closely with accountants in developing strategies to maximise wealth and minimise tax commercial risk and the effects of a bankruptcy on the "family wealth".
The second area of particular interest is in estate planning - working out what will be best and what is to happen when a client retires or dies. This is somewhat related to the first area of interest, requiring knowledge and skill in similar areas of the law, but with an appreciation of the impact of succession law. In this case, Andrew works closely with financial planners, insurance brokers and accountants in advising appropriate strategies and drafting appropriate agreements and wills to ensure your objectives are met.
